Oakland Raiders (Im Optimistic)

"Its An Outrage"
I have a new found optimism for the upcoming Oakland Raiders 2011 season.

As time goes on im becoming HC Hue Jackson's #1 supporter, after taking the Raiders to an 8-8 record overall as offensive coordinator & going undefeated vs. the AFC West foes i truly believe this is the guy to bring back the winning tradition that has eluded this once proud franchise for many seasons.

The acquisitions of offensive coordinator Al Sanders, linebacker coach Greg Biekert, defensive line coach Steve Wisniewski, and cornerback coach Hall of Fame inductee Rod Woodson were solid moves to solidify the coaching staff.

The post 2010 season contract signings of CB Stanford Routt, DE Richard Seymour & LB Kamerion Wimbley were something that needed to be done to keep the defense intact.

The long awaited breakout season of RB Darren McFadden who ran for 1,157 yds 7 td's & an impressive 5.2 yards per run finally proved he is a legitimate #1 RB.

The biggest surprise was rookie speedster WR Jacoby Ford and along with Louis Murphy and Darrius Hayward-Bey could be a very productive WR core.

Without further adue a few words from Mr. Raider Himself GM Al Davis. Just kidding wanted to see if you were still awake.

Your comments and input are always welcomed and encouraged.

If they can find a way to keep Asomugha and Miller, their is room for more optimism.

A friend of mine is a Raider fan, and he thinks they should have tagged Miller instead of Wimbley. He's also not too upset with the imminent departure of Gallery, as he feels he was a good guard, but was being paid LT money.

Oakland could easily be a dark horse in the AFC West. Chiefs were a fluke last year and Denver is headed towards the cellar.

Sources are saying that both RB Michael Bush and TE Zach Miller will receive tender offers with !st and 3rd round picks attached.

Right you are Coach. Per Rotoworld:

Free agent TE Zach Miller is optimistic he'll be back with the Raiders next season.
"We had preliminary discussions (on a contract) before the deadline and I'm sure they’ll pick up again once there's a CBA in place and we get back to business," he said. It's highly unlikely he'll be able to leave after the Raiders placed a first- and third-round restricted free agent tender on him on Thursday.

couple rescent tidbits from MFLs "My Player News"
(Rotoworld) The Raiders have assigned Michael Bush and Zach Miller first- and third-round restricted free agent tenders. Analysis: Both are likely to be unrestricted as four-year veterans, but the highest possible tenders indicate that the Raiders have no intentions of losing either. The tags will keep Bush and Miller under Oakland's control until the CBA.
(KFFL) The Oakland Raiders may show interest in Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent WR Mike Sims-Walker when free agency begins, reports Bill Williamson, of ESPN.com.
(TheHuddle) The Oakland Raiders have placed a first-round and third-round tender offer on impending free-agent RB Michael Bush, a source told Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers. Analysis: Who knows if the existing free agent tags will hold up if a new CBA is reached, but the first-and-third tag suggests the Raiders don't want to let Bush walk. Maybe they realize how fragile Darren McFadden is.
