rotoworld,
Steve Smith would like a new contract, but he's not going to hold out of training camp to get it.
Smith is scheduled to make just $550,000 in the final year of his rookie contract. That's a pretty modest salary considering he easily broke the franchise's single-season record for receptions last year with 107. The Giants would like to give Smith an extension, but the timing is poor because of the "30 percent" rule. Smith believes he deserves Greg Jennings money (four years, $26.8 million), but he's less proven -- especially as a playmaker -- than Jennings was at the time of his extension. Jul. 8 -
