I like Al Shaair from his Niner days but can’t defend him here.

So it's his fault Lawrence, like every other qb, abuses the slide rule? He slid late. Not Al Shaairs fault he was already committed and was heading for the tackle.

I mean we all see mahomes abuse the qb rules to get extra yards.

Last week Josh Allen even FAKED a slide and got more yards because of the fear from defensive players of getting flagged for breathing on a qb too hard.

I've watched/ read probably 50 statements and interviews from offensive and defensive players this week and they all agree that QBs are absolutely abusing the rules and the defensive players are suffering. QBs need to have the fear put back into them. They don't have flags on...yet..it's still tackle football and it's a violent game.

Not arguing all the stuff after the play that contributed to the time. Just the play itself.
