Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman has been sidelined for almost a week with a hamstring injury and doubtful for this weeks preseason game.

The Jets believe that Sanchez has improved his footwork. All the better for Dancing with the stars.

The Washington Post, Skins WR Leonard Hankerson has made a "strong bid" for a big role on offense.

Phillys undrafted rookie RB Chris Polk is a good blocker. Glad to know that.

Tampa's Mike Williams is still listed as the teams #2 WR on their depth chart. Ye of little faith.

Surprise! LeGarrette Blount is listed as the #1 RB on the Buc's first depth chart of the preseason. Probably the last time he'll be listed as the 1.

Jahvid Best= no new news.

Danario Alexander (hamstring) has returned to practice.

Kendall Hunter received some atta boys from Coach John Harbaugh.

The Titans website confirms OC Chris Palmer has installed more "Run 'N Shoot" concepts this year.
This would seem to indicate that the offense there is being geared up for Locker to be the starting QB.

A "source" with "knowledge" says that Dwayne Bowe plans to return to the Chiefs before the start of the regular season. This guy chaps my asp.

Mike Williams reportedly had ballooned up to 270 lbs before being released by the Hawks. Good googly gooks!

David Nelson WR BUF returned for a limeted practice.

Greg Jennings will miss Thursday's preseason opener for the Pack after suffering his first concussion since 2009.

The Colts listed Delone Carter is the No. 4 running back on their initial depth chart. Now that's a big hill to climb.

Demaryius Thomas missed part of practice Monday after his Achilles "tightened up." Keep an eye on this Outlaws as it's believed to be the same Achilles that he tore in 2010.

Dallas wants to use RB DeMarco Murray more in the passing game. I'll drink to that.

ANDERSON, Ind. -- Some quick notes on the initial, unofficial depth chart provided by the Colts in advance of their preseason opener against the St. Louis Rams. Keep in mind that seniority typically helps a guy get an advantage on paper like this and things can change very quickly.
•Jeff Linkenbach is listed as the starter at left guard over Joe Reitz, though Reitz has worked with the first unit this week.
•The Colts list the offense with both a tight end and an “F,” a move tight end/H-back type. Rookie Coby Fleener is the starting TE while rookie Dwayne Allen is the starting F.
•Reggie Wayne is backed up by LaVon Brazill and Griff Whalen at one receiver spot. Austin Collie is ahead of Donnie Avery and T.Y. Hilton.
•Veteran Mewelde Moore is listed as the No. 2 running back behind Donald Brown, with rookie Vick Ballard third and Delone Carter fourth.
•Cassius Vaughn is the second starting cornerback, ahead of Justin King. But before King missed time recently with a hip flexor, he was working opposite Jerraud Powers.
•Korey Lindsey is second to Powers at right corner.
•Brazill is listed as the first guy at both punt and kick returner, with Hilton behind him.

There's speculation out there that Sidney Rice may not be ready to play at the start of the season. Who'd have thunk it? I vote Rice the most over rated player ever, maybe.

Now let's take a break for the funny papers:

Panthers coach Ron Rivera believes TE Greg Olsen is in the "same class as (Rob) Gronkowski and (Jimmy) Graham."

We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread.

Derek Anderson is "still ahead" of Jimmy Clausen in the race to back-up Cam Newton. Clausen must be worse than I thought.

Hakeem Nicks will run routes on the sideline at practice Tuesday and is said to be on target to return for week one of the regular season.

McGahee at 254 lbs gained ten pounds of muscle this off season. As long as it wasn't table muscles this could help him.

RB Trent Richardson could be held out of Friday's preseason opener due to soreness in his surgically repaired knee. Tuesday he rode a staionary bike for his practice.

Carroll said that Flynn will take the first team snaps for the rest of this week to prepare to start the Hawks first preseason game of the year.

RB Evan Royster will start at tailback in the preseason opener for the Skins. Hightower isn't ready to play and Helu can't get no love.
