Need advice about 4th and 6th pick

I have the 4th and 6th pick in two of my drafts. I am worried both my choices will be taken at each spot. At 4 spot I would take Forte or Tomlinson. At 6 spot I would take Tomlinson and am in a bind of whoelse to grab if all is gone. I am worried about CJ and losing TDs to Lendale, as I am in a league where TDs = 6. I also have doubts about Michael Turner if he is available at either position. SJax team sucks so his running options im concnerned will be limited combined with his injury risk. Any advice?

Tomlinson and Gore are my 2 probably available top picks, but there is a good chance you could grab one or the other in the second. (guessing which one will drop is the question) Forte will be gone.

Take Brees in the 4th (this will ensure that Brady goes shortly thereafter, thus wasting a top pick) and Fitzgerald in the 6th causing a push to get AJ and CJ.

Tomlinson or Gore will then be available to you in the 2nd. Take one and be tickled shitless to have 3 #1s after the second round.

Its highly likely you'll land one of those guys (LT/Forte) at the 4 spot in most drafts. But you're gonna get 10 different answers from 10 different people when it comes to who you should take at the 6 spot. I personally like SJax but most don't like the risk that comes along with that pick. LT2 will probably be there so if you like him, then go with him.

If it's a standard scoring league where all TD's are 6 points and there are no points awarded for receptions, the 4th pick is easy. Almost universally, the top 4 picks, in some order, are Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, Maurice Jones-Drew, and Matt Forte. I would suggest taking whomever is left of that quartet at 4.

Without knowing the size of your league, if you have 2 picks this high in the first you could probably grab Tomlinson or perhaps DeAngelo Williams with that 6th overall pick and completely lock down your running backs.
This is helpful because you can now load up on receivers, a top QB, and solid TE before you ever have to think about another RB. If you employ this strategy, be careful about selecting Forte AND Tomlinson (week 5), or Turner AND Williams (week 4) since they have the same bye weeks.

Hope this is somewhat helpful.

I would think about that but then if people don't follow suit and all RBs are gone, then I would feel mighty screwed. Then I would be scrambling for RBs thus screwing me on WRs and then the domino effect.

They are two seperate drafts. One draft I have pick 4. The other draft I have pick 6.

Trickster, there are many ways you could go. How many people are in your league. Frtz is the top WR in many leagues but dont expect him to be in the top 5 this year. Boldin is probably going to score just as many if not more fantasy points then Fritz. Dont be so high on Brees, I rather have Brady. I rather have J. Stewart in the 5+ round then D. Williams in the first. Stewart is the stronger, faster, better back. Pass on Turner even if he gets to you in the 6th. He will start strong but J. Norwood will steal many carries from him this year. M. Forte will be the real deal this year, running and catch TDs for Cutler. A. Johnson is goin to be the #1 receiver this year for PPR leagues and top 3 in standard. I would choice him or R. Moss for the 6th pick. Get S. Slaton. He added 25lb muscle this off season. He added 200lb to his squat!!! Guess who will be getting all the goaline carries.

There are 12 people in my league in both drafts. I like your analysis and agree with it. My top receiver is Moss. Because tds are worth 6, I believe he will be the most value. As for Slaton, I am still worried about Chris Brown stealing the goal line carries. So what are your thoghts on that? Also, I would actually take Moss at pick 6 if none of my rbs are available. I am high on LT this year. What do you think of LT with one of my picks if available? As for pick 4, if mjd, peterson, and forte are gone...do you think it is too early to take a WR. I am worried about getting screwed on RBs if I take a wr at pick 4. So what is your input on:

1. Chris Brown stealing goal line carries; hurting Slatons value at pick 4 or 6
2. Take LT at either pick 4 or 6.
3. Taking moss at pick 4 too early?

4 is probably too high for Slaton. It's a question of how much Chris Brown will hurt his value. Chris Johnson has to deal with the same thing, and he is still high on boards.
2. Take LT at either pick 4 or 6.
LT at 4 or 6 would be good
3. Taking moss at pick 4 too early?
4 might be a little early for Moss. There are a few RBs that give you better value at 4 than Moss IMO

I like Moss at 6 if LT is gone. I am thinking about taking LT with 4 and then possibly Moss with pick 6...all depending on how the board goes.

That is why I dont like watching preseason games. I will stay with my first instinct and still say Slaton will be a top 5 RB. For right now I wouldnt worry about Brown stealing TDs... I could still picture Moss scoring 15+ TDs. Im not a fan of the Patriots but they are a darn good team in almost every aspect. Look what Moss did with a QB who didnt start since High School. Now Brady is back. What else can I say. So I dont think taking Moss at 4 is too early. Many will disagree tho. I got laughed at when I picked him up in the 3rd round 2 years ago. I think you could get excellent value in the later rounds with J. Stewart, Moreno, J. Norwood, J. Addai, R. Bush, K. Smith. If you get Addai, he might start off good but I would put him on the trading block quick. As for LT... well last year he was hurt and still did good. Now he is 100% healthy. I wouldnt worry about Sproles stealing too many carries from him. So LT will be good... I will try to get the Moss/Brady combo myself. If you dont have a WRs in the 3rd round and Colston is still available. Well grab him. He is going to be awesome.

Yeah....preseason does kind of piss me off. I have faith in LT. Brady looked a little skeptical last night so we will see about that. And the offensive line wasn't holding up too well either. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come...
