Mountain West, Conference USA announce football-only alliance - ESPN


Had a feeling Con-usa was going to do something but not this big. They are joining together in football only to make a 22 team super conference. Really wondering now the next moves of the Big 12/SEC/ACC are going to be.

This broke 4-5 days ago but still haven't heard any update on it.

Kingdome is correct. I could still see Houston headed to the Big 12 and I think a couple schools might get cut since the Mountain West already holds almost enough in cache to meet the requirements to supplant the Big East as a AQ conference.

Makes sence to me. Just hoping nobody goes to the Big East so it will just collapse as a football conference.

I have no clue. Be interesting to see it tho. Either two 11 team divisions or guesing some leave for the Big 12. A conference this big would definitly cut down out of league games. Definitly make it alot more interesting since they have to plaay each other almost every game. Plus it will cover alot of the nation so a lot of tv coverage and new fan bases. Recruiting would be very high here and eventually it would become (maybe) a power house division.
