Well that was as about as ugly as it gets. Alot of radio chatter going on here about Gabbert the past few days after the game. He's looking shell shocked and gun shy. Now the talk is about if he really is the guy to lead this team to better pastures. Even heard talk about trading Gabbert and a draft pick to Denver for Tebow.
Now personally i think they are jumping the gun way to much. Can't blame Gabbert for lack of WR help and dropped balls. He doesn't have a #1 WR to depend on and the offensive line is banged up. We have 20 players on IR right now, most in the league. And besides he is a rookie and the QB coach is in his first year also and with no actual time to learn the system and practice, what do they expect. Then throw the guy to the wolves in game 3 telling him he is the starter. He's definitly learning the hard way.
I do still believe in the guy and think he has the talent to be a really good starting QB in the NFL, but in his case and the lack of support here on the team, he should have sat the bench and learned the system and got reps in practice. Get him ready for next year. And i still think it might not be a bad idea for the rest of the year to let him hold the clip board. Let Mcnown take the beatings and start. He sucks but he's only here this year anyway.
