Report: Missouri Tigers hope to join SEC, had wanted Big Ten invite most - ESPN

After reading this article and reading the comment Missouri made about how they would rather join the big 10 but they aren't interested so whats left is the SEC to join. WTF? SEC plays second fiddle to no one. I agree with a comment i read about this and hope the SEC sees that and takes it to heart and tell Missouri to stay put. Missouri is really burning there bridges in the Big 12 so let them stay and stew in their own mess.

Im not sure now. In a way i see there point as the Big 10 schools are closer and would make some immediate rivaleries. Just dont like their comment tho.

Reading up on the Big 12/Big east expansion talks. With the talk of TCU going to the big 12 instead of the big east and the talk of missouri to the SEC, and maybe WV and/or Louisville to the Big 12, all this talk is making ND a contender now to join a conference in football and no longer be independant. Brings up the point of since ND plays all sports in the big east but football and if WV/Lousiville does leave it won't leave much of a conference left and might have to merge somewhere, leaving ND maybe looking for a conference. Talk of Memhpis and UCF in joining the big east is starting to come up as is Temple coming back in.

From what i am reading today, Big 12 is waiting on Missouri and see what they do before anymore expansion, excluding TCU of course to get to 10 teams. Big East is waiting on final word from TCU before they make a move. And now with schools like UCF/Memphis talking of leaving conference usa, this is really getting messy.
