NFL Impact - Meet Mikel Leshoure, a guy you would have heard alot more about if he had played for a school with a better record. Leshoure had two full seasons of work before coming out after his junior year, and averaged over 6 yards a carry both seasons. Leshoure never lost a fumble in college, and he is a big guy who has a body to take the punishment. Between his sophomore and junior seasons, Leshoure learned the art of diet, exercise, and discipline, averaging nearly 7 yards a carry last year. Against Ohio State and Penn State, he averaged over 4 yards a carry, and picked up 3.6 yards per carry at the end of a brutal 3 game run vs Michigan State, with the rest of his team largely ineffective. Leshoure also gutted Northwestern for 330 yards. In his final college game, Leshoure crushed Baylor for 205 total yards and 3 TDs. Ingram may be the safest choice, but Leshoure excites me the most of any prospect in the RB class. I believe Leshoure has the tools and the size to be an impact back in the NFL.

NFL Films guru and avid tape watcher Greg Cosell believes that Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure is a better prospect than Mark Ingram.
"Like Leshoure as an NFL runner more than Ingram," tweeted Cosell, who recently joined Twitter. "Especially in a scheme that features power and counter. Compact, physical, deceptively quick." Conversely, Pro Football Weekly's Nolan Nawrocki believes that Leshoure is overrated. Nawrocki cited "concerns about (Leshoure's) vision," and predicted he'll be "overdrafted in the second or third round just because he looks the part."

After watching his highlights vid

He is a patient runner waiting for the hole to open up then hits it with quick acceleration for a big guy, cuts well to make defenders miss and doesn't waste time being fancy, one cut & go runner also appears to have soft hands.

Gets an A+

Personally, I think he should be the #1 rb taken, but he won't. He would look great as a replacement for Benson in Cincy. He could very well be there in the 2nd round.

Don't know much about this guy except the latest hype around him and reading from here. Like what i have heard so far. He could definitly be a RB sleeper in the draft.
