Miami to deal Brown?

gruntbusters

hehehe...heheheh..hehe...
Saw this today and wondered why in the heck they'd be looking to move him. Who would run the ball in Miami? Is it the Ricky Williams show? I guess it could help Brown depending on where he goes.

I'm going to stop this now. It's bullshit. The worst beat writer the Miami Herald has ever employed wrote a speculation piece in his blog and everybody but Dolphins fans are taking it seriously.

It would only happen if somebody gave up a pair of firsts and a pair of seconds. IOW, not going to happen.
I have no idea if you are right or not.

But I have learned lately that never, ever, say never.

Fact is Ronnie Brown isn't all that much. He has only gotten over 1000 yards once. He is coming of a recovery knee injury season, and has some heavy salary coming. Parcels would not be the first to deal a guy while he looks like a deal, and taking a younger guy to fill in later. They could grab a great back in round one or two...and let Ricky carry some of the offense while that rookie learns...and get some solid picks for Brown.

Not saying I buy into this rumor here...just saying this would not shock me at all. I don't think Brown is that indespensible.

If the Tuna has a need he can meet by letting the Sweet Ronnie Brown swim away, then he will.

Ronnie needs the ball and a challenge. He's the most valuable fin, therefore the most likely to be dangled, like chum. A draft breaker.

The problem with trading Ronnie is that you automatically create a need. Ricky can't carry the load anymore and Patrick Cobbs doesn't have a quarter of Ronnie's talent. What's more, there isn't an RB in this draft that will ever be as good as Ronnie is right now. It's a zero sum game, IMO.

Ronnie was well on his way to gaining 2,000 combined yards in 07 while sharing the load with two other backs. That's freaking beastly. I wouldn't be at all shocked if Ronnie manages 1,500 yards on the ground this year, and 2,000 would only mildly surprise me.
