Miami fires Randy Shannon

I never thought he was a good hire. Bounced after going 7-5 this season, with bad losses to Florida State and Virginia Tech. The loss to Virginia more than the defeat to USF sealed this in my opinion.

Not suprised on decision just suprised how they handled it. Game was barely over when they fired him. Could have let him sweat it all weekend then do it monday morning. any ideas of posible replacements?

Well, he made a stupid call yesterday that kind of sealed his fate. I was calling the game in Miami yesterday and the Canes were in position to win. 5 seconds left in the game, tied 17-17 and instead of attempting a 40 yard FG to win the game he elected to throw the ball which resulted in the Harris INT by USF S Jarrelle Young.

That was a stupid call and he deserves to be fired, IMO. USF should not have won that game, although I'm happy we did.

Maybe he didnt trust his kicker. Oh well, not his kicker anymore.

Im hearing Miami will go for Jon Gruden first, then Tommy Tuberville type guys if they cant get Gruden.

You think Patterson would take the headache? I think TCU is a better job than Miami. Its going to take a special coach and a lot of NCAA rules violations to get Miami winning 10-11 games constantly again.
