rotoworld,
Dolphins DE Phillip Merling was arrested Wednesday night for "aggravated battery" following a domestic dispute with his pregnant girlfriend.

This situation is a lot more serious than it initially sounded. League discipline is probably likely if it's confirmed that Merling struck the pregnant woman. The No. 32 overall pick in 2008, Merling's two-year career has mostly been a disappointment. He's been unable to emerge as an every-down player, and was on track to be replaced at right end by first-round pick Jared Odrick. May. 27 - 10:17 am et

alright, here is my beef with certain perceptions around the league....this is the Dolphins FOURTH....yes FOURTH! arrest of this offseason. Yet you don't hear much about the multiple issues. Cincy had 2006 where they had mutliple guys in trouble and the perception is still with them...

Also, there is this perception that Parcels is king and runs such a tight ship....BS! Time to put some stripes on the Phins uni's I guess....

rotoworld,
A police officer that also works for the Miami Dolphins is being investigated for giving special treatment to DE Philip Merling after his arrest last week.

Commander Alvin Pollock is the target. Someone reportedly escorted Merling out of a private exit in the building and then gave him a ride home. Merling was back with the Dolphins this weekend at minicamp practice after being arrested for aggravated battery Wednesday.
