Some of us have noticed that we wind up playing the same out of division opponents year after year in leagues of different types and formats. I thought I would look deeper into it to try and come up with a workaround to mix things up a bit. I commish 2 different 12 team Dynasty Leagues and here are the results of my tests
Let me know how this works out for you or pm/post any questions and I'll try and help ya through it
I used the same steps for Lombardi, just a different sort criteriaI just went through and set up the 2011 schedule for Landry so I thought I'd post how it went because several mentioned changing opponents year to year for thier leagues too.
Again it set the same out of Div opponents (which I have a work around for now), but I also notice that you wind up playing the same div opponents the same weeks as previous years as well. here is how I got around it.I still have to set up the schedule for Lombardi so I am going to try something different. I am going to swap the teams around so that each div is listed according to div standings from last year. I'll let you guys/gals know how it turns out. Once I get through that I'll make a post on the main bored
- Go to "Commish Setup"
- in "Fantasy Schedule Setup" select "Rearrange Franchises in Fantasy Schedule"
- If all you wish to do is change the out of div opponents just choose 1 div and swap several/all the teams for each other. (eg: team A for Team D,D for A, B for E, E for B, C for F, and F for C). note: it takes both actions for every 1 swap
- If you wish to change the week to week Div Opponents, you need to change the teams as above in both divs, then check to see if you still wound up with the same out of div opponents for the season (I keep a pencil and paper goingh for this)
- Special scheduling requests could be accomodated by just swapping team for team in this window as long as care was taken to only do swaps in 1 div at a time
Okay, Did Lombardi by listing each team according to div standings from last year
Worked well however care must be taken to use your own leagues tiebreakers. The site standings are a bit different than our leagues tiebreakers used for draft order
What I did is use our draft order set by div and sorted/seeded the div teams that way in the schedule maker. This is how I am going to do all the leagues I commish from now on
