  • The Carroll County Times reports Baltimore Ravens veteran WR Derrick Mason predicts a high-scoring offense this fall to work in tandem with a dominating defense. One year removed from ranking ninth in the league in scoring offense with a 24.4 average, Mason said, "We have a good shot to score 25-35 points a game." Even with the addition of WR Anquan Boldin and WR Donte Stallworth, the Ravens will still be a run first-pass second teams and the offense will revolve around getting the ball to Pro Bowl RB Ray Rice. QB Joe Flacco does have more weapons to work with, and Mason was asked how these additions will affect his role. "I don't think it will change that much," he said. "I'll still be running a lot of the same routes. The one thing that'll be different is that with Quan we have someone who can draw that double-team attention.” But Mason did admit that his opportunities will likely go down, "…so maybe I go from seeing 10 balls a game to making the most of the seven or eight I do get." Mason acknowledged that one primary motivation to return to the game at age 35 is to win the Super Bowl ring that has thus far eluded him. He is optimistic that this will be the year.
