Marc Bulger: Is this his last hurrah?

EARTH CITY, Mo. - Quarterbacks like Marc Bulger sometimes don't get a second chance.

Rarely will they get a third.

This isn't lost on Bulger when the subject is broached inside an office at St. Louis Rams headquarters. The franchise has won just five games in two seasons — the NFL's longest stretch of futility for a non-expansion team since the 1995-1996 New York Jets. That's usually enough losing to trigger a change under center.

Bulger got a mulligan last offseason when the Rams passed on drafting Matt Ryan, instead selecting DE Chris Long No. 2 overall. But after another miserable season, the Rams could very well have opted to start from scratch at the position.

Bulger admits this is his last chance - FOX Sports on MSN

Does Bulger have it in him? Im not sure. This offensive line is still building, his RB situation is shaky, and the Rams will be breaking in two new WRs in Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton.

Bulgers confidence has been in the toilet, along with his stats.

LMAO!

I think Bulger could be serviceable for several teams. I dont think he has the moxie to elevate his play to uncharted heights to lead such a young team. I think Spagz will be taking one of the big four in 2010.

I've always loved Bulger and I'm not really sure why. As a result, I have had him on several of my teams, and proceeded to bench him frequently. He would either put up 5 points or 25... very streaky. I'm pretty sure his best days are long gone, but I'd like to see how he does outside of St. Louis. Hope he gets that chance someday.

I personally see the Rams headed toward one of the big four in 2010, that being:

Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Jevan Snead, or Sam Bradford

Bulger would would out great for a team that has an established offensive line and some experience at WR.

Damn right his RB situation is shaky.

Steven Jackson cant stay on the field. When he does, he had ONE good year, with a far better cast than what is available. Even if healthy this year HE IS THE OFFENSE. Teams can key off him at will. Burton and Avery threaten NO ONE.

Behind Jackson, there isnt and has not been a whole lot to be happy about. You dont have to agree with me (and others), but if you want to risk your redraft season on this guy do so at your own risk.

St. Louis is a possible landing place for Michael Vick if he gets reinstated, and if he is in good football shape, this could lead to lots of controversy if Bulger struggles, which is very possible.

Vick had a skill set that matches up well with what they need in StL. Now, if he still has it remains to be seen.

Any talk about Vick is useless and just a waste of time. He has to be re-instated first.

STL will most likely play Bulger this year no matter what happens and look forward to next years draft to pick up a QB. And either offer Bulger a back up position or try to trade him. Depending on his age, he might just retire, and not Favre retire either.
