Los Angeles is gearing up for the NFL

Wow, they have a website. Seems fairly legit.

Also looks like they're steering away from the downtown approach. More land for all of that extravagant decor.

Norm - Jacksonville

Bet its Minny. Especially if they don't get a new stadium deal done this year. Their lease is up at the metrodome.

Not sure about Jacksonville's deal.

Minnesota supports its team, the stadium just blows.

Jacksonville dont support its team, but its a decent stadium.

Could potentially just flip a coin, but does Vikings/Packers or Vikings/Bears make sense OR seem worth it when its the Los Angeles Vikings?

here is the kicker.

There was an article back a few months ago, where Zyggie was selling shares of stock in the Vikings to one of the AEG owners who will be part of the new ownership group in LA.

Add that, plus the lack of stadium and I think you have a match.

Yes, fans support team, but not enough to get them a home. Jacksonville has issues, but Minny needs a home NOW.

I really think this is gonna happen.

It'll be a sad day in the NFL if a team is ripped from it's home where the fans have supported them for decades to go to a city that has never supported the NFL. Those $$ signs get too dam big in some folks eyes for their own good.

Not saying you are not correct.

But how would this be different than what happened with Cleveland and Baltimore?

Baltimore had a team, didn't support well after, and it went to Indy.
Cleveland had a team, not supported so well, and it went to Baltimore, but it raised such a stink it got a team back. Oh, then again, so did Baltimore.

LA has had teams, but keep going away due to stadium issues and support. This new team and new stadium might fix it. Only issue is Minny is screwed.

You left out Houston and there's little to no difference with most of the examples stated. Still doesn't make it right that it's happened before. The Baltimore case was a sad one for the NFL with all the history that the Colts had in that city. The Vikes jumping ship will play out just as bad IMO.

I could see it going one of three ways :

- Jacksonville moving to L.A. is a possibility IMO. They haven't been around very long therefore I don't see them as having deep roots in their current location (Once again this is just my opinion). Not to mention their attendence has plummetted some 30% since their inaugural year back in 95'. Move them to L.A., give them a new name (Jaguars ain't gonna cut it), new uniforms and put them in a new state of the art stadium... People would get behind them and I could see them sticking around for a while.

- Chargers move back to L.A. I've heard grumblings for a while now on local radio of this being a real possibility. T.J. Simers: Chargers returning to L.A.? - latimes.com

- Raiders move back... again. There are still a ton of Raider fans around these parts, the Rams are long gone so they'd be the only show in town. Back in the early 90's, when attendence was way down, the Rams and Raiders were pulling in a combined average attendence of 90,000. New stadium, solid fanbase in place and a lucrative market... I don't know much about the Alameda County Coliseum but I do know its fairly old and Al might be just crazy enough to move again.

I don't like the idea of the Chargers moving up here, I like them where they're at, but the other two options would be cool with me. And I just don't see the Vikes moving to L.A.

They're already too big! There are people paying over $4k for two upper-level corner seats to see the Super Bowl in Jerry Jones' hole-in-the-ground-stadium with nothing else around it but (dare I say) ghetto!! What a treat the NFL treats us to with all their buck$. And next year it's Indianapolis. They're pulling out all the stops for us fans!!

The stadium is within easy walking distance of the Rangers stadium, six flags, hurricane harbor and a multitude of motels. Sure it was once a low income area but try buying property in that part of Arlington now.
