Loomis allegedly eavesdropping on opposing coaches

or
The Saints are just proving how tainted the top has become.

I don't believe this behavior releases the Pats from their prior behavior. I think the fact they haven't won the big one since getting busted proves that issue.

Go beyond the Saints here, if you can. These allegations are from 2000. What kind of creepy-techno spying is taking place now?

How does that prove anything? They've been to two SBs since and had that 18-1 season. Yes, stopping the taping/cheating has really put that franchise in a tailspin

And my point wasn't to excuse the Pats, it was just a joke.

did you just admit that the Pats are cheaters?

I swear this is the last time I will forget you are a Pats fan. Totally my fault here. Because I would have known that you weren't serious.
And JScott, just as you were joking, I was trying to point out that the problem probably goes beyond the Saints.

:wow: This could spell the end for Loomis. New orleans just can't seem to catch a break, or at least they keep getting caught making breaks ;)

Look for a longer than 8 game suspension for Loomis now if this is true.

According to ESPN, The state and FBI are investigating, now that has some teeth to it.

A joint Louisiana state police and FBI task force is investigating allegations that the New Orleans Saints set up general manager Mickey Loomis' booth in the Superdome so he could listen in on opposing coaches.State police Col. Mike Edmonson confirmed the joint effort Tuesday after discussing the matter with Dave Welker, special agent in charge at the FBI's New Orleans field office.

The thing that worries me most about the government getting involved in civil espionage is the silence from the ACLU.

When the government gets involved in deciding civil acts within a sovereign State by extending the Spirit of the Constitution we should all take account.

Technically the Federal government isn't allowed in State judicial process unless another State's sovereignty is involved.
The Fed is using the exempt status of the NFL to gain an exemption on State sovereignty.

The problem is this: If a club in MLB plays in Canada, does this mean the Fed can over-rule Canadian sovereignty?
No, the Fed can Not over come the sovereignty of Canada. And likewise may not over come a State.
For to do so would allow teams in Canada an uneven balance thus negating the agreement of exemption on its face.

The Toronto Blue Jays are the key. The Federal government can't usurp the sovereignty of Canada and therefore must be unable to usurp any other jurisdictional authority based on the simple contract the Federal government has with MLB to allow an exemption status.

God bless Canada

had to edit when i finally realized how many teams in the NHL are in Canada.

If the Federal government intends its agreement to grant an exemption to professional teams in order to gain jurisdiction over the States those teams are in, then the Federal government need to advise the States of this interpretation and intent.

Negating State sovereignty with the approval of the NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, NBA or whatever league granted an exemption status is madness!

And allowing this behavior is tantamount to Treason.

Semper Fidelis.
Tell it to the Marines!

As the First Lady learned and was quoted as saying, after an encounter on behalf of her husband, FDR, Elenore cleaned up the two paragraphs and with little if any pity for the enemy said,
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!”

The ACLU is kind of like the National Womens Organization. You can hammer Sarah Palin and call her all sorts of vile things and ....cricketts. Puppet organizations, and not worth a dime!!! Toss in AARP.
