Taking over the Bills TE spot after a season ending injury to Week 1 starter Derek Schouman, he caught 5 passes for 34 yards today against the Saints, which is exactly 5 passes and 34 more yards than TO had.

Schouman caught 3 for 34 in week 1 and 6 for 62 in week 2 before being hurt.

Shawn Nelson, TE, Buffalo is a rookie who caught a TD in week 1. He followed that up with 1-13 the next week, but overall the TE spot is getting work in the Buffalo offense.

Nelson is the better pass catcher but needs work as a blocker. Fine is "fine" as a blocker and has good ball skills.

Who has the current vote of confidence?

Bills offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said Thursday that TE Derek Fine (hamstring) would have started the season opener if he was healthy in Week 1.

While I agree with you that TE target will be legit in buf. I think Nelson will eventually take over. Fine will get some play..but in my opinion...for long term Nelson is the pick
