According to rotoworld and cbssports.com. Here's rotoworld,

NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that Cedric Benson and Larry Johnson will share carries Sunday against Minnesota.

Not good for fantasy players at all.

This could end up being a huge mistake by Cincy.

First, lets be clear here, in the ranking of Rbs, Benson is the clear #1. As it should be by his past performances this year.

However, the amount of caries he is getting this year is scary high. They will greatly need him in the playoffs (yes assuming they get in.....) and they need to share some of the load.

I think once Bernard Scott is back, that will happen. However, until then they have to put some load on L.J. OR they will kill Benson.

Next year will be the real head scratcher. I don't see L.J. back. I DO see the dreaded carry cancer hitting Benson. Plus age. I also am not sure Scott can be a day in, day out everydown back.

So they may have to look to draft some more depth there.

As long as Ocho is Ocho or Hachi Go, they will be fine

Benson only got 16 carries, if that is all he is going to get there is no need to give another back major carries. Now if they get up to 25-30, then Phic, you are right, they need to mix someone else in. But yesterday was not one of those days.

I agree, and disagree.

First, if they truly only plan to run 20 times a game...then they will lose.

Secondly, if Benson were to only get 16..then fine.

However, he is already at 257 carries. Projections for the rest of this season would then be 315 or so carries. Now get them in the playoffs, and at worst you are looking at 20 or so carries more. If they win one game, then 40+ or more. That gets him over the magic or tragic number of 350 that we all fear. Plus, add to that the fact he is not a dodger, but instead is a punishing type back...and that is even worse.

I am not saying drop Benson. But assuming Cincinnait stays on course...of 50/50 split run vs. Pass. Then they really need to dump say 10 or so carries a game, maybe more to either Scott or L.J. Otherwise Benson won't be worth much for the playoffs, and won't be worth diddly next year.

I agree with what u say, what I am sayong is that yesterday it did not matter, they only gave him 16 carries, there was nothing to split and nothing to be alarmed about from the lack of a split yesterday.
