Let's discuss the Cardinals biggest problem

Hightower is not Edge and cannot help protect Warner. He is gonna get Warner killed. Gandy blew, but when you also have the back there to chip he has to have success once or twice. Hightower in that lineupo is a major blow to Warner's ability to be effective. So he caught 11 passes the week before. He better concentrate on keeping Warner upright or he will never catch 11 more in the rest of his short career.

Whisenhunt had no idea what he was doing with his Rb's last year and even has a bigger mess this year. Gandy and a Back ought to be able to stop a great DE a few times just with luck. Warner is in trouble if he cannot even be protected when the back is left there to help chip. If you remember it was edge's involvement late last season that helped give this squad their push into the playoffs. All Hightower ever accomplished was created the field position edge gave him. When it comes to his handling of Edge and his RB's Whisenhunt really messed up.

The ill advised tweets from Fitz's brother marcus did not help matters this week either. Warner was definitly holding the ball longer to try to wait out Fitz getting open. the week before Warner was getting the ball out in under 2 secs, and last night he rarely got rid of it before the count of 4.

You can blame the Rb all you want...but it starts up front. Gandy and some others on the Oline are just not doing well. Add to that the fact that Arizona doens't know how to use a TE to block...or draft one....and you have issues.

Lets face it...if you have to keep your rb in all game to block to protect the Qb...you are not in good shape to begin with.

Not really, maybe worse. He comes from an Ohio State team whose QB Pryor is a dangerous runner in his own right. Not his fault but he probably never blocked much for the QB.
Pryor was only the QB for Wells last 10 games or so.....before that you had Todd Beckman who is not mobile and that offense is a traditional pro offense so yes, the backs have to block.

However, Wells was replaced often on third down. I do not think it is a strength of his, but nor do I ever remember hearing that it is a weakness either.
