Lendale White Signs With Denver

The Denver Broncos have signed free agent RB LenDale White to fill a hole in the backfield after injuries sidelined Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter. White can participate in training camp and play in preseason games, but has been suspended the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The team released Kolby Smith, the most experienced of their backup running backs, who had been running with the first team in the absence of Moreno and Buckhalter.

Why would you sign an emergency RB who is suspended the 1st 4 games?

Must not be much of an emergency.
 
That's kind of a weird move. Is the hamburgler better than Kolby? How does someone suspended the 1st 4 games going to help if the starting running backs are both injured? And you release your only healthy able-to-play running back?
 
It's a good one, but due to recent developments perhaps we should rename him...

Nothing says they have to keep him past training camp. This could simply be LenWhale is a wonderful tacking dummy for the defense to kick the shit out of, and he will bring his A game thinking he could make the team. Makes the defense better.

Just sayin......

I think this almost has to be right, since he is facing a 4 game suspension...so they can't be looking at White to replace Moreno if hurt.
 
Dumb. Lenwhale is out the first 4 games, Moreno is out 3-5 weeks, and CBuck is out 1 week and is a walking MASH unit. Joshy McD must be thinking low risk long term flier by signing him.

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports RB LenDale White had to be helped off the practice field during Broncos training camp this morning at Dove Valley.
Our view: No word on the nature or severity of this injury. Broncos backs have been dropping like flies over the last week with Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) and Correll Buckhalter (back) getting hurt last week. White just signed with the Broncos and was making some nice runs in camp before this injury.

I heard he was running straight, then cut sharply to the right as someone opened up a McGriddle, and sprained his ankle. Hasn't been confirmed yet.....
 
Yeah, ESPN sent me a text message about it.

They should have gone for Fargas in the first place and left the Donut Snatcher out of it.
