Ill make it quick.

ACC still at 14, may go to 16 (Rutgers and UConn are on their knees)
Notre Dame may move its other sports to the ACC
Villanova, moving to big boy football, has some crazy idea the ACC would want them.....

Big 12 looks to survive minus Missouri and A&M who appear to be headed to the SEC
OU will stay with certain concessions including the LHN not airing any HS anything and Dan Beebe being fired as commissioner of the Big 12 for "catering to Texas", forgetting Texas wanted current ND AD Jack Swarbrick NOT Beebe as the commissioner in the beginning.

OU continues to explore its own network, but its on the back burner. Louisville, BYU, Houston, and TCU look to be additions to the conference with a 12th team "pending"

Pac-12 stays at 12, after it appears to me the conference presidents reigned in Larry Scott.

MWC and C-USA still look to merge for "football only"

Big East refugees looks to link to Big 12 for football. In that scenario the Big 12 name is what the conference will be called and the power and control will rest with Texas and Oklahoma.

The Big 12 is poised to replace commissioner Dan Beebe with former Big Eight commissioner Chuck Neinas, CBSSports.com has learned.

One highly placed source said the conference was moving quickly to replace Beebe who had been under fire from some conference members after recent instability within the league. Neinas, currently a well-known college consultant, is expected to be named interim commissioner.

The official word could come as soon as Thursday when the Big 12 presidents meet by conference call to discuss how to move forward. Based on the news of Wednesday, the embattled league apparently will continue with nine schools while seeking additional members.

The Tulsa World reported Wednesday that the Big 12 had "targeted" Neinas, one of the most respected college figures in the country. Neinas was the assistant executive director of the NCAA from 1961-1971 and Big Eight commissioner from 1971-1980. He currently runs Neinas Sports Services.

Oklahoma and Texas are seemingly in the Big 12 fold after flirting with the Pac-12 for what seems like forever. Essentially, the Big 12 has taken a trip around the world the last few weeks and ended up in the exact same place -- without Texas A&M

Hmmm...

This has to be a concession to OU. This Neinas guy being from the old Big 8 will likely lean toward the Sooners on things.

From 1971 to 1980 Neinas was commissioner of the Big Eight Conference and during his tenure streamlined operations and organization that resulted in improved communications between presidents, faculty, directors and coaches. He developed promotional and marketing programs for the Big Eight that were subsequently copied by other conferences. Neinas promoted the "Big Eight Family" concept that resulted in Big Eight cities meetings involving municipal and university officials, representatives of the chambers of commerce and others.

FOOTBALL!
Louisville, BYU, Houston, and TCU look to be additions to the conference with a 12th team "pending"

I'd look at San Diego State. Good basketball and football school and the middle of a football recruiting gold mine. I know Texas has snagged a Heisman trophy winner out of San Diego before. UNLV is another one to consider too. The Las Vegas area has turned into a nice recruiting hotbed for football and basketball. OU is regularly recruiting there.

Good post KD.

From what Im hearing today, TCU is pretty high on the list and now BYU is back up there so long as the Cougars can be sufficiently convinced the conference isnt dead in two years anyway.

TCU has a good case for getting out of the Big East deal as the conference is dying a slow death and they arent even there yet.
