might the bengals allow him to start and run wild over the chiefs in week 16?

would he be a useful pickup to keep until then?

Always good to keep a cuff on the roster if you have the room, but if Benson is good to go expect him to be the primary back until if/when the Bengals get into garbage time.

He's a great insurance policy to Benson, other than that...not a ton of value.

What about next year Miller?

Given good health, I think LJ could beat out Benson for the starting gig.

You think Johnson is worth grabbing in keeper leagues?

LJ will not beat out Benson but the original post on this thread has some merit. I'll be shocked if LJ is a member of the Bengals next season.

Agreed with Mud, LJ is not the back that Benson is at this point in their career's. Benson is the starter for Cincy, that won't even be in doubt next season.....and as far as LJ next year, he won't be in Cincy, this was a 1 yr insurance deal for the Bengals and gives LJ a chance to audition for another job and stay in the NFL.

You're a BOOB.

LJ has been a rushing talent in the NFL for years. Benson is a perennial back-up that found himself running behind an awesome O-Line this year.

If LJ is healthy (and out of trouble) Benson will find himself right back where he belongs.....as a back-up.

Larry Johnson - 30 yrs old - 1401 carries
Cedric Benson - 26 yrs old - 875 carries

Your right, LJ HAS BEEN a talent for years....and his years are numbered and he's not the back he once was. Still serviceable, but not a top tier talent any longer, too many miles.

Benson is in his prime and showing what he can do, he has a multi year deal with Cincy and will be their starter baring injury, just look at last week, a healthy Benson and LJ was an afterthought. LJ is not even the RB 2, if Scott is healthy that is his role due to the change of pace. If anyone is going to take over the lead role down the line, it would be Scott, kid is damn good as well.

LJ will be elsewhere next year, Cincy signed him for insurance, not to be the future....HE'S 30!!!

I love the Benson haters still.....face it, the kid has his head on straight and is one hell of a runner.

I "mostly" agree that LJ is through.

I "mostly" disagree that Benson is something special. The Bengals running game is special and you could plug in nearly anyone and be successful. (as evidenced by Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard's success).

Samkon Gado would be a fantasy stud in the Bengals line-up.

Kind of like LJ was special when KC had a great "O" line but when that fell a part he wasn't worth starting as a RB?
