(RotoWire) Fitzgerald (knee) remains on track to play in the regular season opener and could even be available to play in the final preseason game as well, the Arizona Republic reports.
Analysis: "The hardest thing with Larry is slowing him down," head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "If Larry had his preference, he would be back playing next week. I don't think there's any question in any of our minds now that he'll be ready for the first game. I think he'll be ready for the last preseason game, but obviously that's not something we're pushing to do. We'll see where he is next week." Without Fitzgerald on Monday night, the Cards' offense looked out of sync and failed to gain a first down in three series with starting quarterback Matt Leinart at the helm. Still, it sounds like he'll be back to 100 percent when the games begin to count, meaning he should still be one of the first five receivers off the board on draft day.
