rotoworld,

Mike Klis of the Denver Post has issued a "fantasy alert" on Knowshon Moreno, who has demonstrated "greater explosion and freelance running" this offseason.

Klis believes Moreno's biggest problem as a rookie was "running a little too much on coach’s instruction instead of instinct." Now that he's mastered the playbook, Moreno is running more freely and hitting holes with more decisiveness. Klis also believes the situational threat of Tim Tebow at the goal-line could open up more holes for Moreno to score.

Glad to see Moreno getting his sea-legs. He's a mental competitor, it was only a matter of time.

Although Tebow OTH is sounding more and like a this-year promise than a might-be-threat..... The QB position could be grown up game of Duck. Duck. Goose.

Bronco RB Knowshon Moreno and Pass Blocking.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels says Knowshon Moreno has made strides in pass protection this offseason. "He's been impressive in terms of his pass protection, which as a rookie he could do it, but it wasn't always consistent,"

Just a bit of a clue for Moreno owners and redraft drafters. Often times we find ourselves looking at RBs and wondering why one RB is getting a lot more work than another on the same team. The most likely the answer to that question is pass blocking, just saying.

(cbssports.com)The Denver Post reports Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno feels more comfortable entering his second year than he did as a rookie in 2009. "Last year, everything was moving so fast," Moreno said. "You had to stay on top of that, remember this, do this. Now it all comes back to you. You just get into a flow, and you can start to flow now instead of thinking. ... This year I feel like I'm out there letting it all out. I'm loose." Coach Josh McDaniels is impressed, and his offseason work might lead to more carries during the season. "He's doing a really nice job of carrying out his assignments in every aspect of his game," McDaniels said. "He's been impressive in terms of his pass protection, which as a rookie he could do it, but it wasn't always consistent. Now it's been pretty consistent. He gets open and he catches the ball in the passing game on a regular basis, daily, and should be an impact player in the passing game for us. He's in his second year, and he knows more what to do. We're expecting a good year from him in a lot of different ways

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports Broncos beat writer Mike Klis told 87.7 The Ticket that expectations for RB Knowshon Moreno this year should be 1,200 yards rushing with maybe 50 receptions. Klis also noted the Broncos wanted to feature their ground game more in 2010 because of the loss of Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler in the passing game.

Fantasy owners are looking for the breakout second-year back, and Moreno could be at the top of the list. With the Broncos shift in offensive philosophy we could see Moreno finally live up to the potential he showed when he came out of Georgia. We're not expecting Moreno to have a second season like Ray Rice did last year, but he's the lead back on a run heavy team and has added fantasy value because of his receiving ability.
