Kiffin attempts to "steal" Vols recruits

Multiple news outlets are reporting USC HC Lane Kiffin and his recruitment guru Ed Orgeron have been making phone calls to Vols recruits, including guys ALREADY ENROLLED IN SCHOOL telling them they have scholarships with USC.

For clarification, once a student enrolls at a D1 school and steps foot in a classroom, they must apply for a waiver from the NCAA to transfer without taking the one year penalty. Kiffin probably missed this along with the other littany of rules he "missed" thus far.

Some guys have put their cellphones on speaker and have allowed numerous Tennessee teammates to hear Orgeron try to convince them to leave Tenny for USC.

Analysis: Though not a NCAA violation, its pretty low to get these kids enrolled at UT and then put them in the likely danger of blowing a year of eligibility to follow him to USC, where they will also likely be thrown in the trash when Kiffin's 2011 class hits campus.

Saw today one has already switched his commitment to USC, not sure who, but I don't think he was one that was enrolled.

Hamilton met with the eight recruits who enrolled early and told them to "go to class.'' He said that though he didn't have an attendance sheet with him, since the recruits were on campus at 12:01 a.m. that means they are enrolled at Tennessee.

According to Tennessee, the eight who enrolled were Channing Fugate, offensive lineman Juan James, defensive end Corey Miller, defensive end Jacques Smith, quarterback Tyler Bray, wide receiver Ted Meline, wide receiver Matthew Milton and quarterback Matt Simms.

Two players expected to enroll and didn't were wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins and defensive lineman Brandon Willis. Rivals.com, which ranked Tennessee's recruiting class sixth before Kiffin's departure, reported Willis would enroll at North Carolina.

Reports are Willis and his father were litterally in the car about to leave to head to Knoxville to enroll him when the USC news became official. Willis washed his hands of the Vols at that point.

He is one of the two involved in the hostess scandal. I cant remember the other kids name, but Willis supposedly called him and told him NOT to go to class and avoid UT. The kid supposedly told Willis he wanted to be a Vol and was going to class. Havent heard much else.
