Or so reports are saying. The 9ers haven't commented yet on the matter. So who's the handcuff for Gore now? Jacobs has been waiting all year to play and many think he'll get first crack. James may get some touches now as well. "E" may have some local information. Speak up e-factor, I need to know.

First off, this hurts the team big time. Hunter was a nice compliment and can run inside and out.

My guess is Jacobs will see 5-6 carries in the inside running game, while James will get a chance to show what he has as the outside/receiving option. Dixon remains special teams and mop up duty.


All of a sudden, Jenkins and James will have roles moving forward. Time to step up kids..................

Jacobs would make the most sense, but it would be a committee with Dixon getting some action and James.

I am very interested to see what James brings to the table.

Just announced that James is inactive today. Surprising considering the positive comments coming from 49er players this week. I was looking forward to seeing him play........
