So with LJ out most believe that Jamaal Charles with be picking up the slack....but Kolby Smith still lingers. Some rumors are floating that the KC coaches want to see how Smith can do with a larger role.....is this a 2nd half sleeper? Will Charles keep the job? Or will this be another worthless RBBC?

I'm hoping they go with Smith because I picked him up in both of my leagues when LJ put his foot squarely in his mouth. Charles didn't do anything to empress me last week but hail LJ hasn't all year.

I think you'll see Smith as the "Replacement" for LJ as far as roles go. Charles will continue to be the 3rd down type back.

Either way, they are running behind the Chiefs O-Line and playing from behind for 3 quarters a game so I don't value either one much.

If I had to choose one for fantasy, it would be Charles.

First, I don't think either is a target to grab, as they don't seem to run much, and don't feel they can.

Second, this is not the first trial for Kolby. He had chances last year before he got hurt. While he was okay, not stupendous by any stretch.

This team needs to rebuild. Retool. They have a solid Wr with Bowe. Cassell at qb is still a question. I would rather see them give Charles the ball and see what he can do.

But the o-line has to be the focus next draft. If not...they will suck again next year.

But to answer your question...no I don't think Kolby Smith is the answer.
