Kap- buying or not?

No one raised his fantasy stock more in the playoffs than Colin Kepernick. So here we are going into draft season, are you riding the hype train, or going to let someone else take the risk? For me, after the top 6 or so, I think he has as much upside as anyone. I like him paired with a steady back up like Dalton, Cutler or Flacco.

Definitely buying. I have him ranked 7th currently and only that low due to the fact that SF will still run the ball plenty and he won't get a lot of garbage stats.

I keep hearing the term "running QB" in fantasy circles when discussing Kaep. Wrong. He's a QB who can run. Has a cannon arm with no accuracy issues. While SF won't turn into a pass crazy team, I think they give him more of a leash (longer leash) this year. Plus, with his size and running ability, I think he will end up in the 8 range in rushing TDs.

Kid can play

top ten for sure but is style of play has me worried about if he can stay healthy. Definitely worth the risk though . I agree with e in that while he can run he is also a great pocket passer. If they do have him on a "leash" a bit he will have a stellar year.
late 4th rd or later for me in redraft

Style of play?

If you watch him, he and Russell Wilson are smart about the way they run. Take the yards and get down or get out of bounds. They don't run like Vick or RG3 where they try to slice through tacklers. Plus, at 6'5, 235 and strong, he can take a hit or two that would blow up smaller QBs.

Nothing to worry about there..............

. Agreed, or even like Cam.

I am seeing this all over the board. Would love to see a top ten Qbs for the folks here.

Me:
Rodgers
Brady
Brees
P.Manning
C.Newton
Stafford
Romo
Luck
Ryan
Kap
E.Manning
Russell Wilson

that may be 11 or 12 but that is how I kind of see it now.

I do think that the loss of Crabtree will hurt his numbers a bit this year...but if crabtree comes back strong, Kap is still a top 10 dynasty QB

More up side then any QB out there. Kid wouldn't shock me if he finishes in the top five in fantasy points for a QB.

I will say this. I like his potential, and you simply can't deny what he was able to do last year.

That being said, for a young Qb to really grow and gain, he has to have tools to work with. Crabtree is gone now. Granted they got Boldin, which looks like a hugely good move now. But all the drafting they have done at WR really hasn't helped. Add to that they lost depth at TE, and only with Davis..... Well I am not as high as some. I still see him doing well, but not top 5.

If Crabtree was there, with Boldin and Davis....and God forbid Lattimore and his receiving ability this year...I would be a whole lot higher on him.

I like my chances with him as a 16th in a keeper league. VD with more reps makes me smile. I'll start him most weeks unless he gets hurt.

I do like me some QB's that can get you an additional 4-10 pts on the ground and can still get you pts in the air.

Don't expect as much from him in leagues that award 6 point passing TDs. His rushing ability is then less of an advantage--and SF doesn't have a wealth of receiving options.
