Willis is the only real shocker. They will miss him and his leadership. Too bad a great player has to retire so early. My favorite player since he was drafted. On the plus side, Bowman should be back 100 percent and Borland was excellent last year. Willhite gives them a good reserve, so in good shape there.
I think they knew Smith was going to retire. He has been on the fence the last couple years. Another great player you hate to see go, but when they signed Dockett, I sensed he wouldn't be back. They have some young talent there in Carradine and Eddy, so they shouldn't drop off a lot there.
Time for Gore to move on. Another great player, but will be 32 when the season starts and they have Hyde ready to step in and Hunter back as a solid back up. There comes a time when RBs just fall off the cliff and Franks time is coming up.
Good riddance to Iupatti. Good run blocker but can't pass block for shit. Was looking at 7-8 million a year. Way overpriced.
Crabtree, meh. Just wasn't the same receiver after the injury. Not a big fan of Torry Smith, so not excited if they do sign him, but he does give them a deep threat, which they need. Boldin is still a stud and I'm pretty sure even if they do sign Smith, they will draft a WR at 15.
The Kaep news is strange, but wouldn't be devastated if they moved him for Foles, or did the Tennessee deal for the first pick.
Will be an interesting year for sure, but SF has a lot of young talent on the roster that can step in. Not nearly as bad a situation as it seems when you look at the players lost.
