Heard this on the radio on the way home.

Radio guy said rumors of a Kaep for Foles trade are floating around.

I've seen Chicago and one other place rumored as well.

I for one would DIE of laughter.

Hmmm.....
Before you throw this all out, think it through. Kelly is making the team in his image. He wants a mobile Qb who can run and pass when needed. Kaep fits that, but he is not near accurate enough to be really effective. If this was a stop gap, so that some Qb he drafted was a fill in...maybe.

Still, Kelly has made it clear this will be HIS team. Since he has been there he has jettisoned - DeSean Jackson, Maclin, McCoy all huge players but also huge salaries.

I am not a fan of this switch...but he seems to make it work.

Add to that they just added Gore(or will officially tuesday) so he would have a back field mate he is used to.

Okay per PFT this is being denied by Balke, but at the same time, PFT has a weird post about some player being gone from San Fran that is to be major news.....

WOW - San Fran is in a world of hurt....

Lost due to FA:
Gore, Iaputi, and now Crabtree is rumored gone.
Rumors of trading Kaep.
And now...BOTH J.Smith and P.Willis are retiring from the defense. HUGE losses there.....

I heard there was some news that the other NFC team interested was Chicago. How can they afford to cut Cutler?? Or would San Fran really take him?

efactor

Coming at you
Willis is the only real shocker. They will miss him and his leadership. Too bad a great player has to retire so early. My favorite player since he was drafted. On the plus side, Bowman should be back 100 percent and Borland was excellent last year. Willhite gives them a good reserve, so in good shape there.

I think they knew Smith was going to retire. He has been on the fence the last couple years. Another great player you hate to see go, but when they signed Dockett, I sensed he wouldn't be back. They have some young talent there in Carradine and Eddy, so they shouldn't drop off a lot there.

Time for Gore to move on. Another great player, but will be 32 when the season starts and they have Hyde ready to step in and Hunter back as a solid back up. There comes a time when RBs just fall off the cliff and Franks time is coming up.

Good riddance to Iupatti. Good run blocker but can't pass block for shit. Was looking at 7-8 million a year. Way overpriced.

Crabtree, meh. Just wasn't the same receiver after the injury. Not a big fan of Torry Smith, so not excited if they do sign him, but he does give them a deep threat, which they need. Boldin is still a stud and I'm pretty sure even if they do sign Smith, they will draft a WR at 15.

The Kaep news is strange, but wouldn't be devastated if they moved him for Foles, or did the Tennessee deal for the first pick.

Will be an interesting year for sure, but SF has a lot of young talent on the roster that can step in. Not nearly as bad a situation as it seems when you look at the players lost.
