June Jones to Arizona State not happening, new problems at SMU

For Jones its a crowing achievement Id think to land at a BCS conference school where he should immediately win 8 games every year.

As of 2:15 today talks have broken off. The school wants to hire Jones, but prominent boosters are fighting the hire tooth and nail, and are winning the fight at the moment.

Multiple Sources are now reporting this is over, done, and wont ever happen.

Jones took a trip to ASU during SMU's biggest recruiting weekend in 25 years

Jones was under the assumption this was a done deal to the point he met with people and recalled his staff from the road.

Now SMU may move to fire Jones. Wow.

Wow. ASU is a mess. They have a weak, reactionary AD who should be canned. Sadly they are too busy looking for a football coach to worry about the inept AD who will likely hire the football coach. If I was Pres., I'd go over the AD's head to make the right hire.
