Josh McDaniels has been fired

Rotoworld,
Broncos fired head coach Josh McDaniels.

Denver is 3-9 this season with losses in 17 of its last 22 games. Yeah, that 6-0 start in 2009 was a fluke. Though McDaniels has shown the ability to get the most out of skill players on offense (Kyle Orton, Brandon Lloyd in Denver, Matt Cassel in New England), his wildly aggressive personnel decisions backfired more often than not, and McDaniels' inability to keep Mike Nolan as defensive coordinator following last season reflected especially poorly on the the 34-year-old's people skills. Spygate 2 gave owner Pat Bowlen more than enough reason to fire "McD" for cause. Still, there won't be a more sought-after offensive coordinator candidate during the 2011 offseason. The fantasy impact of McDaniels' firing remains to be seen. We'll know more when the Broncos select an interim coach (perhaps defensive coordinator "Wink" Martindale), and he speaks to the media.

so....in two years, he traded the franchise QB......traded the franchise WR......traded 3 picks to move up to get Tim Tebow......traded Peyton Hillis for Brady Quinn.....damn, in 2 years he set that franchise back another 5 years....talk about a 7 year mistake!

....and Hillis still banged his wife! :koolaid:

Thats outstanding RC. I couldnt get in here fast enough to make the joke :)

Its pretty damn bad when you get fired in like a year and a half. Jesus.

WOW fired just days after it made news he'd be around for the 2011 season. He'll be back somewhere next season, maybe in the college ranks.

Trading a first for a corner that got sent to Detroit earlier this year.

And don't forget firing Mike Nolan over, essentially, nothing.

Lets put this more in perspective, per ESPN radio the other day. Do you all realize that next year they will be paying for THREE head coaches! They still have salary for Shanny on the books next year.

Then another year after that will be two.

They better make sure this next choice sticks!

Sheesh...

Welcome to Raider Nation Denver fans :)

He'll be an OC in the NFL next seaon but it should be a long time before he gets another HC gig.

He should be an OC; he has done a great job with the Denver O. Its his roster moves that are questionable. But I dont know if he will get a job that fast as an OC though; usually the HC likes to bring in their own guys.

I also see him in college for now, but eventually back as an OC, and then down the line maybe another crack at HC.

Its in another thread, but there was actually a rumor around Austin that he would be at least contacted about the open OC spot at Texas, especially since Denver is paying him.

I dont see it happening because he wouldnt stay long.

Bowlen will be more cautious this time. The lucky coach gets no personnel say, and a timecard.
