DAL and WAS hammered by the league for front-loading contracts in the uncapped 2010 year.

10MIL off the cap from DAL and 36MIL off from WAS :wow:

And the 46MIL is split between the remaining teams, except for OAK and NOS.

so what your saying is Washington got a 36 mil cap penalty assessed this year? off of the 120 mil cap??? RGIII is walking into a disaster!

Yes. Or they have the option to spread it over this and next season. But WAS is already 30mil under this years cap. Without the picks they traded for RGIII you have to assume they were looking at talented (i.e. high-priced) FAs to surround him. Now they won't really have either.

Well, after radio report: 4 teams not just two are being cited. Washington and Dallas were the worst offenders, New Orleans and Carolina also were being nailed.

contracts in question: Austin in Dallas, DeAngelo Williams in Carolina. Not sure in Washington or New Orleans.

Per radio reports teams were told NOT to do huge front loaded contracts (not sure if this was a written rule or "un-written" rule) and these teams ignored the rule.

Update, per a story at PFT, the salary dumping that both Dallas and Washington did during the uncapped year is the big issue. Evidently teams were notified "6 times" that they were not to take advantage of the uncapped year to salary dump. All four did, but Oakland and New Orleans not so much.

Washington and Dallas have cap being removed, and those dollars are being spread out to the other teams....except Oakland and New Orleans who won't get cap taken, but won't get a share of the Washington and Dallas cap help.

Been reading that Redskins also have 11.6 mil of cap added from last year, + they can split it over 2 years. so it will prolly be about a 12/14 mil hit
