jonathan stewart dynasty value?

I posted a thread in these regards, it really depends on how the surgery went. IMO, I think he has amazing value, especially since DWILL will be an FA in 2011 and they do not have enough $ to keep them both. Since they chose JStew number 14 overall, to me it shows a commitment to the Late Show moving on.

his long term value scares me as I don't see him holding up physically very long in the NFl. His feet have given him issues in the past and he just does not seem to be durable. in a short 2-3 year window he can be effective, but he will still be sharing carries with Dwill this year, and who knows what the situation will be after that.

The health concerns keep me from getting too excited long term on Stewart.

And yet he hasn't missed a game.

You obviously can't count on longevity from running backs, due to the nature of the position. Tomlinson and Emmitt are rare exceptions.

His candle will burn bright for the undetermined amount of time he plays, so ride him if you have him. If you're looking to acquire him, don't pay as if he's a long term investment.

Okay thats stretching things.

He had 11 or less carries in the first 5 weeks this year....and that includes a bye week.

He had even less attempts last year...and in both cases came off major injuries in the off season.

I think Miller is spot on. I don't see them tossing D.Will out...to rely on a guy who every off season you don't know if he will be able to play or not.

I agree. He went to HS in an Olympia suburb, so I followed his high school career. He was the workhorse RB his whole HS career. Timberline was a football doormat until Stewart came along & they rode his shoulders for four years while they built up the program into a respectable one. He was built like a D1 RB as a high school freshman & the coach used him accordingly. His senior year they lost a close game in the playoffs to the Bellevue dynasty. Sure, the pounding was a lot lighter in high school, but he still worked a load. He may put together a few good years, but I don't see him lasting that long.
