RT Damien Woody has announced, via his Twitter account, that the Jets have released him. Woody was drafted by the Patriots in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played for New England for five years, then played for the Lions for four seasons before joining the Jets in 2008

The New York Daily News is reporting that in addition to RT Damien Woody, the Jets are planning to release LB Jason Taylor, NT Kris Jenkins and DE Vernon Gholston.

6 minutes ago - DE Vernon Gholston and TE Ben Hartsock have been released. The Gholston release was reported earlier in the week. The team officially confirmed it on Wednesday.

wasn't Gholston projected as an OLB before being drafted ??
