I tend to agree with Phicinfan. I'd like to think that he could learn from McNabb but I'm really starting to question whether he has the ability to learn anything at all. If so he certainly hasn't shown it to me.

Oh I was just practicing my sarcasm....sorry about that. I'm so pissed..I drafted this guy in the 1st round of our rookie draft that year. He's been on my bench ever since...I think it's past time to cut my loss. I just refused to believe he was that bad. He is.
As a life long LSU fan I can't come to grips with the QB that he has been in the NFL. He had touch in college and was darn accurate with the long ball as well. I haven't a clue what has happened to him other than his obvious weight gain.

I think he got to the NFL and seriously undervalued the part of his job description that says "Earn the respect of the team and become the field-leader". Simply handing it off or sending spirals down field is no longer enough and consequently he's losing ground on the skills he brought from home. And, on a team with more weaker links than other teams, his role becomes even more important.... not less. I'm not sure he can be inspired to step up.
Thanks Rachelle, you may well be right. It's still a sad thing to me to see him play so poorly and make so many bad on and off the field decisions after loving him in purple & gold.

Even if the Raiders dont get McNabb, Russell has to go and the Raiders need to cut there losses and dump this chump.

True enough as to what he has become as a Raider however as a Tiger he was a concensus number one pick into the NFL. Did the Raiders ruin him or does he just plain suck at the NFL level? BTW, I lean towards the sucking side of this question.

(KFFL) Tim Kawakami, of the San Jose Mercury News, reports the Oakland Raiders could either ask QB JaMarcus Russell to take a pay cut or release him should the team acquire Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb or any other high-profile quarterback in the offseason. Russell has previously said he would not accept a pay cut.

The only pay cut he will get is 100% after the Raiders give him his walking papers, no NFL team will want him after this.
