Re: Eagles new HC will be Gus Bradley?
Bradley is back in town today for a second interview and reports from Philly strongly indicate that the Eagles intend on locking him up today. He has two other interviews scheduled but reporters think that he'll never make it to them. Bradley is the current DC for the Seattle SeaHawks. Okay Eagle fans etal if this is true are you happy? In your opinion did the team need to go offensive or defensive with the new hire? Are there any other names floating that you'd prefer to lead your Eagles?
All great questions. For the record I am shocked. I expected a "BIG" name to replace Reid.
Of all the interviews:
Most were college coaches - Oregon's, ND's and had planned to talk to Syracuse HC as well but Buffalo snapped him up.
They have talked to OC's - Denver's, Bengal's, Colt's
Former HCs - Lovie Smith, and one rumor has them talking to Arizona's fired coach.
I am not against a defensive minded coach. It is the antithesis of Andy, so not sure how that will play. In the past they have not done well with DCs see Rhodes and Buddy Ryan. But only time will tell. If this is true, who they select as OC, and what type of offense they run will be critical. They basically will be QB less - as I don't think they thing Foles is the answer. Vick will be gone. They have super Wrs and Rbs, and Tes. Need O-line help desperately.
Defense is an issue, so getting a defensive minded coach will be new. CB will be an issue as rumors are Asoumagha will be gone. Maybe the other as well.
This will be a major shift for the Eagles, and quite honestly I don't see them doing well at first.
I kind of would have loved to see Chucky as HC.
