Jags WR Mike Simms Walker Moving on?

Updating previous reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars told WR Mike Sims-Walker, an unrestricted free agent, that they were going to move on without him, reports Tania Ganguli, of The Florida Times Union. General manager Gene Smith informed Sims-Walker of the team's decision, and Sims-Walker, as reported, said on Twitter that his time in Jacksonville was up.

It sounds like a mutual parting of the ways is about to happen here. WR Mike Brown made a good late season impression. The Jags also just signed WR Jason Hill to a two year deal so it sounds like a Brown/Hill combo at WR. Walker could return as a cheap rehire at a later time.

WTF? Stupid move by Jax. QB position is already a question mark and now take away one of his dependable go to guys. What the hell are they thinking and planning for the draft? Biggest need they have is bringing in a quality FA QB or getting lucky in the draft. Maybe their thinking that way. Picking up a FA QB and signing a WR and much needed secondary help.

I don't know...he was pretty much a flake last season. After a very solid '09 season it was almost like he decided he had 'arrived' and didn't need to work at it anymore. He was literally a non factor last season.

One Jaguars "insider" explained to ESPN 101 that free agent Mike Sims-Walker was more of a problem than an asset in Jacksonville. This explains why the Jags did not tender MSW. "He can't beat press coverage off the line of scrimmage and he also whines if they don't throw to him even if they win," the insider explained. "He doesn't want to take the blame when he doesn't make a catch and he has a bad knee. ... (Sims-Walker) had 18 of his catches in two blowouts, 10 in a loss to San Diego and eight in a win over Dallas. In no other game did he have more than four."

Funny how that all comes out after he is released.They werent complaining when he was there. So they released, whats the purpose of trashing the guy?
