Jackson/Rosenfels

If and when Favre hangs it up, will these guys have any value...especially after having the rug pulled out from under them...

I would be surprised if either of them amounted to anything more than career backup.

Granted the Vikings made the playoffs with Jackson at the helm a couple years back, but they just snuck in as a wildcard one and out if memory serves me correct.

I do believe that #4 has one more year left in him, and would also be surprised if the Vikings don't realize this and maybe look to address the situation next off season.

Rosenfels read this thread and decided to prove y'all wrong... at least for tonight's game.

Question is... what happens now after 310 yards and 3TDs

IDK, Minny has alot of offensive talent there. So much talent that they'd make an over the hill-past his prime-needs to retire QB even look good. Oh wait they did that last year. Now they have Sage a younger more versitile QB in place, all he has to do is play half assed decent and they are back in the playoffs. He plays a few more games like that and they might cut ties from Favre. Then he'll realize that and show up ready to play thinking if Sage can do it with that team, so can i.

:tsktsk: this is his MO, he will have a huge game and make folks think he is the next Delholme out there, then he will revert to the knuckle head and throw picks left and right. He would make a very solid back up Qb for a team, but he is not a starter.

Minny needs to address the future. I don't think Jackson is it either. I am shocked they have not drafted a young guy to groom. Although I hear they are somewhat excited about Joe Webb.

sage seems to get excited and try too hard . . . and force turnovers . . . he has a better oline in minny than he did in houston, so maybe he can calm down a bit . . . he's got a good arm though.

Now that I've seen this game, I'm far less impressed with the stats.

Scattered, jumpy, unpolished and a little scary for fantasy owners hoping to squeeze value out of their WR and TE picks. Childress seemed optimistic about his QBs, but I think he's putting up a great front until his all-star comes back....if he comes back.

Reports are rampant that they were after Garcia if Favre does not return. However, Garcia has signed with the UFL. Not sure if that is a locked in contract of if he could get out of it if NFL comes knocking.

Net, Minnesota is a mess. They are clearly communicating they don't like the Qb situation by the simple fact that they are cow towing to Favre, and have had other contacts with other Qbs. This team is a mess.

And for fun...............................
There is an article at ESPN on the NFC east blog page where they review Washington. Where they call out McNabb has his eyes turned north if he does not get a contract extension........good god.......

Here we go round the merry-go-round, the merry-go-round, the merry-go-round...

Sounds like they too were stock piled a little too much hope that Fave would come back again per his typical pattern and delayed finding an alternative QB solution.

I'm not a Vikings fan, but they're getting my sympathy vote right now. To rally behind their previous rival QB in hopes of getting to a Super Bowl only to watch it slip from their hands in the playoffs and practically disappear into thin air during TC right along with Farve and his ankle's ability to heal..... man.
