No way!!

DENVER - Was Tony Romo confused during the final play of Sunday's Cowboys game against the Denver Broncos?

Video shot by FOX 4 photographer Larry Rodriguez seems to show a confused Cowboys quarterback during a crucial moment. (This video will be posted only a short time online due to NFL regulations.)

During the final seconds of the game, Romo motions his linemen to get ready for the next play, then holds up three fingers, as if he thought the team had just completed the third down play.

But when he learns that the previous play was actually the fourth -- and last -- chance for the Cowboys, Romo reacts with a curse.

Romo tried twice to throw to receiver Sam Hurd to tie the score, but both attempts were incomplete. The Cowboys lost to the Broncos 17-10.

Romo has not yet spoken with reporters about whether there was any confusion on the field.

Would like to see the video. The story and the picture didn't really tell me anything.

Damn I just watched it, Now it has the buttons removed to play it. He was screamimg to get his team back on the line. Broncos players were running onto the field and he turned around to look at them. He held up 3 fingers, and looked at the officials who shook their heads. He then looked down in despair realizing it was over.

It didn't escape youtube though. I'm guessing the spike to stop the clock may have slipped his mind.

I don't really think it is a big deal, but I am sure it will be played up as one. It's possible the scoreboard showed 3rd down still and maybe he was trying to sneak in an extra play, LOL

Romo Says He Didn’t Lose Track of Down --
Thu Oct 8, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Kansas City Star reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo said in a conference call with Kansas City reporters that he had not lost track of the downs on an unsuccessful fourth-down play in the final moments of last week's loss to Denver, as Internet reports claimed. “It was fourth down, and everyone knew it was fourth down,” Romo said. “We called it in the huddle. The play-call we had was our fourth-down play. I told the guys, 'Last play.' But as you're walking off the field, the guys moving the down marker goes to 3. I thought maybe the refs might have messed up for a second. I just thought the refs might have screwed up. Maybe they had that 3 on there the whole time and they didn't know. Believe me, if I had thought we had an extra down (coming), I would have been going crazy out there.”
