Is It Time (or too late) To Move Shonn Greene?

When Thomas got moved to K.C. Greene's stock went through the roof. He was projected as high as the 5th amongst RBs.

Ever since L.T. joined the team, his stock has gradually fallen and is now ranked closer to #14. He is consistently 2 ranks below Knowshon now, who is another option I have as my 4th keeper.

I have no faith in Denver or Moreno this season and I REALLY want a productive RB to go with Chris Johnson.

Should I package Greene and V. Davis (whom I'm not keeping anyway) for a SJax type back who's owner doesn't feel comfortable spending a #1 on anymore?

Both Greene and Davis will cost the new owner a last round pick so it's great for a team trying to rebuild. I already have 2 guys costing me a #1 so essentially who ever I get will only cost me a #3.

I'd really love to keep Greene myself but if he drops any further in the rankings he falls out of the range I'm hoping to start this year.

Don't worry about Greene, that team will run enough for them both to get theirs.

Will he be better than SJax, Gore, R. Brown or Addai?

...Or Wayne, Moss or Fitzgerald?

These are the guys I'm looking at moving him for.

As far as the others, you're not looking to move Greene for one of them, you're looking to move Greene and Davis for one of them, in which case I honestly think you're better off holding on to him. Often times, the projections are hit or miss, this seems to be the latter.

Keep S.Greene he is the future, LT is just making a pit stop before retiring.

Addai wont get the carries that Greene will be getting.

C.Johnson and S,Greene is a great fantasy football team handcuff, i wish i had these two RB's

I'd stick with Greene. He is the starter. And like mentioned above, both LT2 and Greene will get a good amount of carries this year.

well if you are not keeping Davis, then his value to you in null. So it's a free toss in. Of the guys you mentioned, Gore, SJax, Wayne, Moss, Fitz.

The guys I like the most are: Gore, Fitz, SJax
However, even though they are just costing you a 3rd, it's a 3rd vs the last pick you'd give up in Greene, big jump.

Greene is a young bull, Gore and SJax are not at a decline spot yet, but IMO are not too far off from it. This year I like them both better, but Greene's long term value is higher IMO. Fitz is your steady guy here. has 10 more yrs of terrorizing DB's and racking up big fabntasy numbers. But your looking at WR, not RB.

IF you could get Gore or Jackson....I would seriously think on that.

I understand everyone else's points. I also agree for the most part. However, I have concerns with Greene. First, can he stay healthy? If he gets hurt and LT2 gets on a roll...will he get his job back? Secondly, they went out and acquired Holmes. Yes he is out for 4 games. But that tells me they will pass more. So if LT2 is getting his, Greene gets some..and they pass more.....that is a decrease.

If you could get Gore, who is the main stay of that offense, that also just majorly upgraded the O-line on Greene and V.Davis who you weren't going to keep anyway. I would do.

Jackson will be a somewhat scare. Granted he WAS teh offense last year, and they did get some Oline help. Plus they will want to run to protect the rookie. But he has age and miles on him.

Also, keep in the back of your mind Javon Ringer. C.J. is threatening a hold out

CJ will get whatever he wants. Ringer won't do much this year no matter how hard Phic tries to will it to happen. :D
:wtf:

please name for me the last FA or contract hold out in Tenn. that got what they wanted. Don't hurt yourself, you won't find one...but I am willing to wait.

:duckhunt::p

WOW, Phi....

I had the deal all typed out.

I give Greene, Desean Jackson (can't keep him anyway), and V. Davis (can't keep him anyway) for Gore.

I backed out at the last second....wanna know why?

Cuz I didn't want to have to play against this guy. He'd have Greene, Jackson, Davis AND ALL of his early round picks.

I'd have Brees, Chris Johnson, Gore and Andre but wouldn't have a pick until the 5th round.

Now it's got me thinking heavy about keeping C. Johnson, D. Jackson, V. Davis and Greene, keeping my top round picks, and letting the super studs be distributed evenly amongst my opponents.

Damn I wish this were a dynasty team. :xpissed:

teckie, what are all your choices with rounds they would cost? How many can you keep again?

Keep 4 Miller.

Brees 1
Andre J 1
Chris J 2
Moreno 3
D. Jackson 5

The rest are all last round picks:

S. Green
V. Davis
J. Forsett
S. Slaton
A. Foster
J. Cribbs

I think I lean towards some of your value plays. Here is how I break it down in order of preference:

1. CJ (2) - no brainer, have to keep him
2. DJax (5) - Again, one of the best at his position and the 5th is a steal. Has to stay
3. Greene (16) - this offense will run, run, run. Should finish in the top 10, can't give that up when he's basically free to keep
4. AJ (1) - this is where it's tough. I know you say your league is QB crazy, and if it is, then I go Brees instead and give up the 1. I would be trying to move one if not both of these though. Davis (15) would not be a bad b/u or even get a lesser player and pick that will cost less.

I do see where your dilemma is though. If you would go Brees in that last spot, then AJ only costs a 3rd as opposed to DJax a 5th. That is close, could go AJ in that spot if you went that route.

In the end, I make sure I keep Greene due to the price. I would be shopping like hell to get some value for your guys who will cost a (1).

Hey Mud,

Tell Hampton to look my team over and see who he wants. He's always a sucker for trade and he'll be anxious to rebuild his team.

I'd be interested in Flacco, DWil, or maybe Harvin.

CatFish is still in control of that team and Johnny has no say at this time. As an advisor to CatFish I'd say that DiWill isn't on the board not yet anyway. How do you like Forte?

I'll pass that on meanwhile you should make a grab for Forte to backup CJ who has found his way to the buffet table or so I've heard.

The latest ranking on Greene from NFL.com is 21st among RBs. He's ranked right there with Marion Barber and Cadillac Williams.

It's gotten so ridiculous that it's hard to take it seriously anymore.
