Injured Players Coming Back - Who will be the most affected?

Several injured players will be returning within the next few weeks, consequently affecting the value/productivity of fill-ins who have been producing in their absence.

Who do you think will be affected the most and the least?

Anthony Gonzalez returns: impacted players are Garcon and Collie.
Willie Parker returns: impacted player Mendenhall
Mike Bell: impacted player Thomas
Buckhalter: impacted player Moreno
H. Nicks and D. Hixon: impacted players S. Smith and Manningham
Kevin Curtis: impacted players D. Jackson and Maclin

Omitted: Gore/Coffee. It's obvious who will be controlling the rock when Gore returns.

My 2 cents:
Least to Most affected:
P. Thomas (improving RB in an explosive offensive where D's have to respect Brees arm, has been extremely productive)
S. Smith (sure handed WR, Manning trusts him, nuff said)
Mendenhall (most yards after contact in NFL ~ sounds like Steelers type of running back, Willie runs like he is about to fall)
Moreno (future of Broncos, learning the offense, has become productive)
D. Jackson (Eagles love his speed, will try to get him the rock anyway possible plus Maclin and Celek definitely catching secondary's attention)
Collie (going out on a limb here, he's a very smart WR, runs intelligent routes, perfect for sophisticated offense, Manning's trust is increasing)
Maclin (explosive speed, dub-team on Jackson will provide Maclin opportunities to run past single coverage, Curtis better come back with his A-game)
Manningham (Manning likes his tall targets, especially in the red zone)
Most Affected Player: Garcon (explosive WR, however Collie runs smarter routes, Manning and Garcon haven't developed a high level of chemistry/trust - if Gonzo comes back healthy I predict Garcon is most affected)

Food for Thought

Thanks Mills.

Part of the reason I wrote this post is now that the season is in it's 6th Week, many FF teams coaches are faced with the dilemma of dropping someone on thier roster due to bye week or non-production. For example, in both my leagues I had to drop Beanie Wells to pick up S. Morris. (good production, needed a solid flex option) Granted, Wells has amazing upside, however I would have thought he would have been utilized more in the offense by now, plus Hightower is playing well and the Cardinals will pass first, then run.

We all have players on our benches who are taking up rosters spots that haven't lived up to their hype/projections ... LT, cough cough. (my number 1 pick in another league) Can't trade him, can't drop him. :headscratch:

However, there are many players who we may have picked up in mid-rounds that haven't produced, i.e B.Wells, E. Graham, L. White, etc.

I can't justify keeping them while many of us are in leagues where productive players may still be free agents:
QBs like Henne, Garrard
RBs like L. Lewis, S. Morris
WRs like Collie, S. Rice, H.Nicks, N. Washington
TEs like H.Miller, V.Schiancoe, J.Finley

I've realized that it comes down to the details and, let's face it, your gut. I like looking at the details, such as who runs smarter routes and understands the offense better, who gives his line time to develop holes rather than run into his linemen backs, who has happy feet in the pocket, and returning players having an impact on producing fill-ins playing time (see original post). And when all else is equal, who has the better work ethic.

I would really appreciate anyone and everyone's feedback. If y'all see something I am missing, please share. (i.e. O'line consistently improving on a team that is not known for it, developing chemistry between QB and fairly unknown WR, etc) Unfortunately, I can only watch 3-4 games on Sunday and, of course, MNF. Highlights do not give enough data to make intelligent analysis and you can only see so much in stats. If you see trends or have any insights regarding my earlier post, please share.

Thank you and I wish you all good luck this weekend. Unless, of course, you are a Browns and Raven fan. :nannie:
