Injured LB Zach Follet calls Lions QB Matthew Stafford a "china doll"

Lions LB Zach Follet (whose career is over due to a neck injury) called his teammate and Lions QB Matthew Stafford "a china doll right now," referring to his oft-injured quarterback, according to NFL.com. "Stafford, good guy," Follett told KFIG-AM. "He's a china doll right now. Anytime he gets hit, he goes down."

Big talk from a guy who couldnt stay healthy either

I heard about this. The media just took parts of the interview from Follet to make it look bad. It was just taken out of context.

Still, he has a point. Kid is another shot away from a major shoulder injury. He is our modern day Chad Pennington. If I were Detroit, I would draft for the future accordingly.

He needs to work on his strength and conditioning. I think that is the problem.

I agree. I brought that up awhile back thinking the Lions problem as a whole team is their strengthening/conditioning coaches. They have way to many injuries year in and year out for their not to be something more than we see. Yes injuries happen all across the league but it seems get bit by the injury bug every year and to extremes.

Not to defend the conditioning staff there, but Staffords crap "could" happen to anybody, and Best being hurt after taking that kind of pounding doesnt shock me either.

Past that, the Lions subsisited for so many years on older, mediocre free agents, poor draft picks, poor athletes, and re-treads, it doesnt shock me that they were hurt that often.
