IDP keeper draft help

"Its An Outrage"
I'm in my 1st IDP h2h keeper league (free ESPN) and i have no clue which def. players are most valuable to draft ?? Is ILB more valuable than OLB, is a Safety more valuable than a CB. etc..........
I'm guessing that its better wait to the later rounds to start drafting idp-players. :headscratch:

The league is first year, 16 teams, 18 player roster, 4-IDP starters, 2-IR, keep 5-players for the following season.

Thanks Outlaws.

IDP is a nice variation. When and who to draft depends on your league set up but I have found that it is best to focus on your offensive starters before shifting to the D unless there is an exceptional defensive player you want to make sure you do not miss.

Here is a link to help you get some ideas of comparative values over the past few years.

Hope that helps and good luck.

An ILB who is a tackling machine is usually more valuable than an OLB who is a pass-rush specialist. Think Patrick Willis (SF) over Joey Porter (MIA).
Same train of thought when choosing DB's. Safeties are typically more valuable than CB's who "might" get you a handful of INT's. Think Adrian Wilson over Champ Bailey.

I usually like to get a DL who will fill my sack void and focus on the aforementioned other positions solely for tackles. Pay attention to a team's scheme also. DL's in a 4-3 usually get more sack opp's than those in a 3-4.

My dream setup would be something like Jared Allen at DE, Willis at LB, and Wilson at DB, then fill in your last IDP spot with a guy at either position who might get a well-rounded combo of stats. My boy Polomalu comes to mind because although he won't dominate any of those categories, he's good for a handful of sacks, maybe a few INT's, and a good tackle total, to boot.

He's also a guy who can get to the endzone if he gets the ball in his hands. Those are the sweetest IDP points.

it depends on your league's settings, but sometimes (yahoo for instance) you can use lb's as dl . . . but yeah, the mlb's continually dominate the top of the rankings and/or stats . . . ;)
