CBS Sportsline reports New York Giants HC Tom Coughlin isn't fooled by the Redskins' signing of QB Andre Woodson to their practice squad. "You mean, 'Why is he in Washington right now?'" Coughlin laughed. "It's pretty obvious why he's there. There's no question that that's what's going on." The Giants play the Redskins in the regular season opener.

This has been a tactic for years now, and possibly a very effective one. having an edge like this during week one, when most mistakes are made, can be key to stealing a win.

That said, Redskins might very well be able to beat these Giants even without the knowledge that Woodson brings to the team.
