Hines Ward to undergo surgery on his thumb

(TheHuddle) Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward (thumb) is scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday, May 31, to repair ligament damage in his left thumb. Analysis: The procedure does not sound like it will be a serious one but could keep the star wideout on the shelf for the next few weeks. He should be good to go for the 2011 season as a No. 3 reciever for fantasy teams.

I'd have rather seen him have the surgery sooner and skipped out on tip toeing through the tulips.
