Heyward-Bey: First of the 09 Busts

Following up on a story the Sgt John press spoke on during OTA's:

Updating previous reports, David White, of The San Francisco Chronicle, reports Oakland Raiders managing general partner Al Davis noticed the drops by rookie WR Darrius Heyward-Bey during practice Sunday, Aug. 2. Davis, Heyward-Bey and his position coach all met after practice. Drops were a knock on Heyward-Bey during college, and so far he has done nothing to dispute that reputation since joining the Raiders.

Information leads me to believe it has been several passes each practice the young man is dropping.

In a possible sleeper special, WR Chaz Schilens has been impressive thus far in camp. The 6-4 225lb, 7th round draft pick, second year man out of San Diego State has been far outperforming the other guys.

4th round pick WR Louis Murphy reportedly had some issues with the playbook, but performed very well in OTAs and may be more NFL ready than the much higher drafted Heyward-Bey

Sadly we may be the witnesses to the 2nd coming of Renaldo Nehemiah, fast as hell, couldn't catch a cold.
Once again, Al Davis has single handed sabotaged the Raiders for many more years to come with his senile :coocoo: ass draft picks. :xpissed:

The grim reaper's next stop needs to be Oakland Calif. :zap:

Maybe they will trade him to Jax. The fans here are used to watching WR drop passes last year so he'd fit right in.

The Raiders gave him a $23 million signing bonus, so all us Raider fans will have to suffer thru this painful season with Heyward-Bey. :eek

And hey there is still hope. He might suprise you. He might magically acquire Jerry Rice hands and with that running from the police speed , be an all star and make the pro bowl next year.

At this point, i will settle for 75% hands of J.Rice

Yeah, dropsies never go away. If you're lucky you have a Chris Chambers on your hands, who you can count on to make stupidly sick catches but drop stupidly easy ones. If you're unlucky, you have a Derek Hagan, who drops as much as he catches.

So here is a friendly little wager. Who will drop more passes this year? 1. Bey....or 2. T. Owens.

I picked TO as the second choice 'cause i am thinking he lead the league last season with dropped passes.
