Roddy White and Nicks have become damn near worthy of being sent out to greener pastures in my opinion. Thoughts?

Also feel free to add your own players...I'm thinking MJD has entered that territory as well.

Boy, that's tough. You know these guys all have talent, it's just not working so far.

I'm probably more likely to give White a pass because he has been dinged up. If he gets healthy, he can get right.

Here is a cautionary tale from my own experiences..

In 2011 I was crazy high on the value for Marshawn Lynch when he had just come to Seattle. He was my 5th round pick in my favorite league, and I took him as my 1st RB. Needless to say, I had a ton of faith.

My faith was quickly crushed though as he came out of the gate about as slow as he possibly could. His first 3 games looked like this :

Week 1: 13 carries, 33 yards, no TDs
Week 2: 6 carries, 11 yards, no TDs
Week 3: 19 carries, 73 yards, no TDs

Averaging less than 4 points per game, I had officially struck out on this guy. I had opened 0-3 and couldn't wait any longer. I dropped Lynch and no one even picked him up.

The rest of the year he compiled an additional 1100 yards and 13 total TDs. Over that stretch, he was a top 3 fantasy RB.

I got myself a win in week 4 and climbed out of the basement of the league. I went to go pick Lynch back up after seeing him finally hit the end zone in week 4. Unfortunately, I had scored more points than 1 of the other 1-3 teams, and he was claimed in front of me. That owner rode Lynch all the way to a 7-6 record and a playoff berth while I missed out.

I cant even remember who I picked up when I dropped Lynch. It's haunted me for 2 years now.

The moral of the story... You can give up on players who were all flash but have never popped. You can't give up on players who are hyper skilled though.

LOL I remember that season too.

I had my eye on Lynch from the start--a little-known fact about him at that time was that he went into that season leading the league in broken tackles, and he had something like 500 yards in 4 TDs in his last 6 games after being acquired by Seattle from Buffalo. That was also the season after he had that highlight reel run against the Saints in the playoffs the year before:

Anyway, I called him to be a top 10 RB in the preseason, and as is often the case with Axe Elf preseason predictions, I was pretty much laughed off of at least one forum (FFToday, I believe it was). Keep in mind that Lynch hadn't been over 600 yards or 6 TDs in his three previous seasons with Buffalo and Seattle, so yeah, it was kind of out on a limb.

After those first three weeks, I was getting reminded about it all the time--"When's Lynch gonna start being a top 10 RB, Axe?" they jeered.

But as is often the case with Axe Elf preseason predictions, they found out.

I think people way over paid for Gates. As far as White and Nicks go no they aren't droppable, lol but I expect you over paid for their services.

I agree with Mud, don't drop them just yet. You will likely regret it to at least a certain point.

White I will hold on to. He has a high ankle sprain, and I think he will be a huge boon come 2nd half. Issue with Nicks is Giants in general. Come bye week they will have their heads handed to them, and will probably respond better.

MJD just looks done to me, in his defense though, that team is just a mess and teams are keying on him.
Ridley may be a lost cause, that was probably a wasted high pick for some.
Witten hasn't done as I expected...but it could get fixed soon.

What about Miles Austin? Worth hanging onto or waiver wire junk?

Same with Eli, see him being dropped in some cases and I can not blame the owners. Too many solid QB's who are performing better.

Eli is totally droppable.

Watch Miles this week though. Playing against San Diego can bring out the fantasy star in anyone. If he doesn't show up in this juicy matchup, hes worthless.

Miles Austin has a hamstring injury, with which he has an extensive history. That could be a headache all season long.
