Sit of the Week: Frank Gore, RB, San Francisco vs Minnesota: Frank Gore has been a spectacular play so far. This week he runs into the Vikings defense. Minnesota has more than enough to take away the 49ers “keep em honest” air attack and shut down Gore. I still think Gore will score, but I also see him held down to low yards. Dont depend on him to win your game this week, and weigh his start as a RB2 carefully.

ESPN NFL on twitter is saying its a high ankle sprain and could miss the next 2 games. I haven't looked at San Fran schedule so I don't know if one of those 2 weeks is a bye or not.

I expected a short TD on the ground. Like 15 carries for 20 yards and a score to go with 2 receptions for 20 yards. I should have called the always present injury.

ESPN reports,

49ers head coach Mike Singletary told the media Monday that RB Frank Gore will undergo an MRI on the right ankle he injured in Week 3 at Minnesota. Gore was hurt on his first carry in the first quarter of the game, aggravating the same ankle he hurt in Week 2 against the Seahawks, and left the contest. NFL.com reported that Gore had a high-ankle strain and would miss at least two games, which would keep him out until Week 7 as the 49ers have a bye in Week 6.
