Gonzo Lite suffers setback

rotoworld,
According to WISH Indianapolis, Anthony Gonzalez has suffered yet another "setback" in his recovery from multiple 2009 knee injuries.

The extent of the setback is unclear, but Gonzalez has ceased practicing at Organized Team Activities. The former first-round pick appeared poised to go after either Pierre Garcon or Austin Collie's role in the offense, so their jobs are as safe as can bet. Gonzalez is out indefinitely. We'll keep an eye on his progress, but his fantasy prospects for 2010 are bleak at best.

Starting to think RC's $1 is safe.....still like him if he's healthy, but just doesn't look like this is going to happen anytime soon.

I'm trying to find out more but my time at the computer is about done for the day. If this is serious it makes Collie at a 16 a potential keeper in my $$ league. I hope the young man can play this year though.

Here's the rotoworld report,
Updating a previous item, NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports Anthony Gonzalez is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury -- not a setback with his knee.

LaCanfora's report is more reliable than that of WISH-TV in Indy, and his source maintains that the hamstring is unrelated to Gonzalez's knee injury. The former first-rounder had reportedly been "showing well" in recent practices, and he's not expected to miss significant time. We still like Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie much better as fantasy factors, but this news is certainly not as dire for Gonzalez's 2010 prospects.

(cbssports.com)Colts coach Jim Caldwell on Friday declined to discuss the specifics of why WR Anthony Gonzalez missed minicamp practice last weekend. "I can tell you this: He'll be fine," Caldwell said. It has been reported Gonzalez missed practice with a hamstring injury, which is unrelated in his comeback from last year's knee injury.

Analysis: While we're disappointed that Gonzalez is now dealing with a hamstring problem, this is encouraging news that Caldwell is counting on Gonzalez to be ready for the start of training camp. Colts QB Peyton Manning is also excited to have Gonzalez back and said his return is like adding a high-priced free agent. The Colts are loaded in their receiving corps with Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, but Gonzalez will have a prominent role in the offense. He should be considered a sleeper on Draft Day and is worth a late-round pick in all leagues

rotoworld,
Colts president Bill Polian confirmed that the injury currently sidelining Anthony Gonzalez is unrelated to last year's knee problems.

Asked to elaborate, Polian said only that the current injury is "muscular" in nature. His response matches up with reports that Gonzalez is dealing with a hamstring pull. Polian assured that Gonzalez would be ready for training camp, emphasizing, "Trust me."

Indianapolis Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) is a question mark entering training camp, reports Mike Chappell, of The Indianapolis Star. Gonzalez suffered an undisclosed injury during offseason workouts, which the team said was not related to his previous knee injury and was muscular in nature. Chappell said he would not be surprised if Gonzalez opened camp on the PUP.

Opening camp on the PUP is much different than opening the regular season on the PUP. Gonzalez could come back at any time when the Colts feel he's ready to practice. He could be an important part of the passing game if he's healthy, so we expect the Colts to monitor him closely and not bring him back too soon.
